My Anticipation

This is a video from American Players Theatre‘s evening of “Director’s Chats.” It’s a night before Day One of rehearsal, in which the directors share their thoughts about the plays with the APT staff, company, board, and supporters. John Langs, director of Hamlet, couldn’t make it, so the responsibility fell on me. The talented Jack Whaley is responsible for this video. Check him out at

Here’s what I had to say on the night before we started our journey…

Also, I must apologize. I know it’s been a while since my last update. I am sorry. I will have more posts coming very soon. I found that working on Hamlet for 6 to 8 hours a day was sort of tiring. One can handle only so much of oneself speaking, thinking, posturing, blabbing about Hamlet for a given amount of time before exploding. Coming home after a big day at work, I had very little tolerance for going on and on about Hamlet all by myself. Frankly, I was sick of myself! Now, we are open and I have more time and MUCH to blog about – the rehearsal process, our performances, Rosencrantz & Guildenstern Are Dead (which is now in rehearsals), as well as life in general. So… stay tuned.
